Meet Kay McMahon

LPGA Professionals Hall of Fame Instructor and LPGA National Teacher of the Year Kay McMahon is Turning Stone Resort Casino’s newest Golf Teaching Professional.

McMahon is one of the few LPGA instructors who is also a member of the PGA of America.  She also received the distinction in 2020 as one of the Top Four Elite LPGA Instructors.  During her amateur playing days, McMahon captured the Minnesota State Publinks Championship twice.  Her professional playing career includes qualifying and playing in three USGA Women’s Open Championships among many other LPGA events. Her leadership in the industry included teaching tour players to rank beginners, women, men, juniors and seniors. McMahon is also Director of Instruction and co-founder of eduKaytion Golf, featuring her innovative teaching program, Golf 8.5, her simplified approach to learning and improving every aspect of the golf swing.  Using her trademarked technique, McMahon will be conducting in-person lessons, clinics, and golf schools at Turning Stone’s legendary Golf Dome, with health and safety protocols, which include mandatory face coverings.

“Golf has played an important part in helping establish Turning Stone as a world-class resort, and being able to offer our guests lessons with one of the most prominent teaching professionals in the sport only solidifies our exceptional golf experience,” said Miles Blundell, Director of Golf and Recreation at Turning Stone. “Whether guests are picking up a golf club for the first time, or are already a seasoned pro, Kay’s phenomenal approach to teaching truly ignites a passion for the game.”

“Turning Stone has an earned reputation for its exceptional golf experience, and I am so excited to be part of this team and have the chance to work with guests on improving their game,” said McMahon. “One of my signature sayings is ‘golfers are made in the off-season’ and the amazing Turning Stone Golf Dome with its spectacular short game area provides a one-of-a-kind experience that gives golfers an opportunity they can’t find anywhere else.”

McMahon joins a stellar team of golf professionals at Turning Stone, including PGA Teaching Professional Marty Nowicki, who was named among the Best Instructors in New York for 2020 by Northeast Golf Magazine.
