Las Vegas sports betting veteran Justin Arnett is the Director of Sports Book Operations for The Lounge with Caesars sports at Turning Stone, YBR Casino & Sports Book and Point Place Casino. We asked him a few questions about what it’s like to work in the sports book.
Q: What is Sports Betting like here in Upstate New York?
A: It’s just like Las Vegas, and in some ways even better. We’ve partnered with Ceasars Sports, the official odds supplier to ESPN and the first casino partner of the NFL, to ensure we’re offer the premier sport wagering experience.
With exciting new facilities and exceptional food, the guest experience is unmatched in the area. Which means our team members are serving the best sports fans in the area.
Q: What does the average person need to know to work in a sports book?
A: Sports betting is fun and easy to learn! Winnings depend on the size of a bet and the odds, which will be clearly shown when guests place bets. We train every staff member to help people walk through the entire process.
It’s helpful to know and enjoy sports, of course. The game is always on at The Lounge
Q: What’s on the menu?
A: Award-winning amenities set Turning Stone apart, and this is certainly true for the sports book. Our Chef de Cuisines, three-time James Beard Award recipient Ron Ross, has assembled a menu of amazing offerings to further enhance the experience for guests at The Lounge.
For servers and bartenders, The Lounge is a great place to work because our food and drink offerings are so amazing. Fan favorites you’d expect in a sports bar, plus higher-end menu items, craft beer and specialty cocktails that only hospitality specialists can deliver. Some people come to The Lounge just for the food.
